Readings Matters 2017 authors announced
US authors A S King and Rick Yancey and Canadian author Mariko Tamaki are among the guests attending next year’s Reading Matters conference.
The 2017 conference, which is presented by the Centre for Youth Literature at the State Library of Victoria, will also feature local YA authors Randa Abdel-Fattah, Rachael Craw, Alison Goodman and Lili Wilkinson; as well as photographer Lance Balchin, author and illustrator of Mechanica (Five Mile Press); and 20-year-old activist, public speaker and writer Nevo Zisin, who underwent gender reassignment surgery at the age of 17 and will release a memoir, Finding Nevo, early next year.
The professional program will run from Friday 2 June to Saturday 3 June 2017 at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, and will feature ‘a variety of events with leading YA authors, fresh new voices and youth literature specialists’. A one-day student conference will also be held.
The full program for the biennial youth literature conference will be announced in February. For more information and to book tickets, visit the website here.
