Macmillan UK acquires YA novel penned by seven authors

In the UK, Macmillan Children’s Books has acquired a ‘unique collaborative novel’ written by seven YA authors, reports the Bookseller.

Floored follows the lives of a group of teenagers over several years, with each character’s perspective written by a different author. The authors involved in the project are: Sara Barnard, Holly Bourne, Tanya Byrne, Non Pratt, Melinda Salisbury, Lisa Williamson and Eleanor Wood.

Rachel Petty, editorial director for 6+ at Macmillan Children’s Books, said: ‘The UK YA community is so strong and supportive and I wanted to translate that into what I knew would be a really special collaboration. Even though it’s editorially challenging to edit seven different voices into one coherent novel, it’s been fascinating, and so much fun.’

Floored will be published in July 2018.
