Wattpad, Hachette to produce 50 audiobooks

In the US, online writing and reading platform Wattpad will partner with Hachette to produce 50 audiobooks based on Wattpad stories, reports Publishers Weekly.
The program will focus on popular Wattpad writers in an effort to distribute their works beyond the Wattpad platform.
The titles will be sold digitally through major online retailers. Hachette senior vice-president for content development and audio publisher Anthony Goff said the publisher was ‘excited to be working with Wattpad to amplify the audience and broaden the channels of discovery for their unique brand’.
