HarperCollins, Fullers and MacLean’s awarded at Leading Edge Books Conference

A number of industry awards were presented at this year’s Leading Edge Books Conference in Surfers Paradise on 20 March.

HarperCollins was named Publisher of the Year for the second year running.

Fullers Bookshop in Hobart was named Metro Bookstore of the Year from a shortlist that included the Avenue Bookstore in Melbourne and Dillons Bookshop in Norwood.

MacLean’s Booksellers in Hamilton won Regional Bookstore of the Year. Also shortlisted were BooksPlus in Bathurst and Mary Who? in Townsville.

Avid Reader in Brisbane won the Best Business Ideas Award for the store’s secret admirer campaign.

The awards were presented at a dinner at the Marriot Hotel, which included the announcement of the 2017 Indie Book Awards and a speech by philosopher and author A C Grayling.
