NSW State Library to host symposium on A&R publishing

The State Library of NSW will host a symposium examining the legacy of the publisher Angus & Robertson (A&R) on 10 April.
Speakers at the ‘Waratah & Thistle: Angus & Robertson Symposium’ include Jacqueline Kent, Craig Munro, Chris Lee, Jason Ensor and Bridget Griffen-Foley, who have researched material in the library’s Angus & Robertson archive to look at how the publisher ‘continues to influence literary culture and shape its digital future’.
Topics include ‘Beatrice Davis, the woman behind Australian Literature’; ‘how A&R created Australian culture’; and ‘what was behind A&R’s success’.
