J K Rowling tops 2016 ‘Sunday Times’ author rich list
In the UK, J K Rowling has once again topped the Sunday Times author rich list, with the author’s personal wealth rising to £650m (A$1.12b) in 2016, reports the Bookseller.
Rowling is joined in the top 10 by Jamie Oliver, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Jeffery Archer, Tony and Maureen Wheeler, Wilbur Smith, E L James, Ken Follett, Jack Higgins, and Delia Smith and Michael Wynn-Jones.
Three children’s authors have made the list for the first time. They are Jacqueline Wilson in 13th place, Julia Donaldson in 17th, and Adam Hargreaves and family—the inheritors of ‘Mr Men’ author Rogers Hargreaves’ estate—in 16th.
The annual Sunday Times rich list features the 1000 wealthiest individuals and families in the UK based on public information.
