Adams win ‘ABR’ Calibre Essay prize

Writer Michael Adams has won the Australian Book Review’s annual Calibre Essay Prize, worth $5000.
Adams’ essay ‘Salt Blood’, a mediation on freediving and mortality, will be published in the June-July issue of ABR.
A judging panel comprising author Sheila Fitzpatrick, ABR editor Peter Rose and Picador publisher Geordie Williamson chose Adams’ essay from almost 200 submissions.
