Minimum wage to rise 3.3% following Fair Work Commission’s annual wage review

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.3% increase to minimum wages effective from 1 July 2017, lifting the minimum wage from $17.70 per hour to $18.29 per hour.
The Commission’s annual wage review lifted the weekly minimum wage for a full-time worker to $694.90, an increase of $22. The rate applies to employees on the modern award and registered agreements.
The increase is greater than last year, when the minimum wage rose 2.4% to $17.70 per hour.
