Little Brown signs self-published New Zealand author

In the UK, Little Brown imprint Piatkus has acquired two novels by self-published New Zealand author Tammy Robinson in a five-figure deal, reports the Bookseller.

The first book Differently Normal, which was originally self-published, is about a girl who is a full-time carer for her autistic sister and has no time for love. It will be published in 2018, followed by her second novel Photos of You in 2019.

Hachette Australia will also publish Differently Normal in Australia and New Zealand in 2018 as part of the deal.

Associate publisher Emma Beswetherick said the book will appeal to both the YA and adult markets. ‘It’s Me Before You meets The Fault in Our Stars, about a girl who cares for her autistic sister so has no time for love—until she meets him—and the ending still refuses to leave me, even weeks after I finished reading.’
