HarperCollins partners with Bolinda to produce audiobooks

HarperCollins will partner with audiobook publisher Bolinda to jointly produce audio editions of HarperCollins’ Australian titles.

About 50 titles from HarperCollins’ frontlist and backlist will be published for the launch program, with the first audiobooks to be released later this year. Previously, HarperCollins licensed its audio rights to audiobook publishers.

HarperCollins CEO James Kellow said Australian was experiencing ‘immense growth in the audio market’. ‘Bolinda is at the forefront of the audio industry and continues to innovate and expand the market through its detailed understanding and insight. Together, we will be able to expand the HarperCollins’ audio offering for more of our authors and their audience.’

Bolinda founder Rebecca Herrmann said the company ‘looks forward to bringing more Australian stories to life on audio and adding them to Bolinda’s exclusive offering in Australian and New Zealand libraries and digitally through BorrowBox’.
