A donation from independent bookselling chain Readings has contributed to a new library at Berry Street School in Ballarat, Victoria, reports the Courier.
The Readings Foundation donated $17,900 to the school as part of its annual grants program. In 2017, Readings will donate a total of $128,349 in grants to 10 organisations.
The library was officially opened on 25 August to coincide with Children’s Book Week. Incorporating feedback from the students, the design includes bright beanbags, comfortable lounges and a street-art inspired mural ‘to give the library its own identity’.
Berry Street is an independent child and family services organisation in Victoria.
