Carey to headline Geelong’s Word for Word Nonfiction festival
Novelist Peter Carey will headline this year’s Word for Word Nonfiction festival, which runs at the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre from 17-19 November.
Carey will be in conversation with Maria Takolander on the opening night, exploring the intersection of fiction and nonfiction, which is a key focus of this year’s program. Events include keynote addresses, panel discussions, forums and workshops, as well as the ‘Great Debate’ and a musical salon with Rob Snarski and Charles Jenkins.
Around 80 guests will participate in the program, including barrister and human rights advocate Julian Burnside, novelist Frank Moorhouse, writer Peter FitzSimons, former news anchor Tracey Spicer and retired tennis player Jelena Dokic.
