Sales

FictionUWA Publishing has sold rights to Extinctions (Josephine Wilson) in the following territories: UK and Commonwealth (ex Canada and ANZ) to Serpent’s Tail; and US and Canadian to Tin House. (See news.)

NonfictionAffirm has acquired world rights to Sophie’s Boys (Sophie Smith & Deborah Fitzgerald, see news). Hachette has sold UK and Commonwealth rights to Growing Healthy Happy Young Minds and Nurturing Young Minds (both Ramesh Manocha) to Little, Brown imprint Robinson.

Children’sHardie Grant Egmont has sold the TV option to the ‘Squishy Taylor’ series (Ailsa Wild, illus by Ben Wood) to Robyn Kershaw Productions. (See news.) Scholastic has sold Persian translation rights to the first five books in ‘The Bad Guys’ series (all Aaron Blabey); simplified Chinese translation rights to Where’s Santa?, Where’s Santa? Around the World, Where’s Santa? In Australia and Where’s Santa Now? (all Louis Shea); Canadian rights to A Thousand Hugs from Daddy (Anna Pignataro); and Korean translation rights to Twig (Aura Parker).

NonfictionScribe has acquired ANZ rights to The Despot’s Apprentice: Donald Trump’s Attack on Democracy (Brian Klaas, see news).

Children’sAllen & Unwin has acquired world rights to Four Fairytales for Feisty Girls (Susannah McFarlane, see news); Walker Books imprint Black Dog Books has acquired ANZ rights to This One (Carole Wilkinson); and world rights to the following titles: Spirit (Cherri Ryan, illus by Christina Booth); Our Stories: First Fleet (Claire Saxby, illus by Jim Pavlidis); Backyard (Ananda Braxton-Smith, illus by Lizzy Newcomb); I Am Change (Suzy Zail); Our Stories: Aboriginal Protest (Aunty Fay Muir & Sue Lawson); Mallee Sky (Jodi Toering, illus by Tannya Harricks); One Careless Night (Christina Booth); and The Jacket (Sue-Ellen Pashley, illus by Thea Baker).
