Staff changes at Murdoch Books

Murdoch Books has appointed Carol Warwick, Kelly Doust and Kirsty Rizzo to new roles.

Warwick has assumed leadership of the Sydney publisher’s newly integrated promotional team as head of marketing and communications. Warwick joins Murdoch from Simon & Schuster, where she was senior marketing and publicity manager for six years.

Doust has joined the publishing team, focusing on the publisher’s ‘wellness, conscious living and inspirational memoir’ list. The author of seven books, including the ‘Crafty Minx’ series and two novels for HarperCollins, Doust was most recently the acquisitions editor at Wavesound Audio.

Doust said she looks forward to ‘helping Murdoch grow their stable with new and familiar names in the lifestyle market in the coming years’.

Rizzo has been appointed to the role of key account manager, effective from 1 April. She is currently the senior children’s product and promotions manager at Allen & Unwin.

Publishing director Lou Johnson said the three appointments are a ‘key part’ of Murdoch Books’ strategy to position itself as a lifestyle publisher. ‘Simply put, we want to help people live life well, so are now publishing across a broader range of categories and formats to ensure we are providing our customers with fresh, relatable and desirable books and experiences that genuinely add value to their lives,’ said Johnson.
