Varuna Residential Fellowships for Writers 2019 applications open

Varuna, the National Writers’ House, invites writers from across Australia to apply for a Varuna Residential Fellowship.

A Varuna Residential Fellowship offers writers working across a wide range of literary forms and genres the gift of uninterrupted time to develop a new work in an inspiring environment and a collegial atmosphere. Fellowships include full board, accommodation and a private writing studio.

Varuna will award 24 fellowships in 2018 with residencies of two or three weeks available to be taken between January and the end of May 2019. Varuna assesses applications on merit and clarity of work plan and encourages writers from diverse backgrounds and at all stages of their career development to apply.
