‘Good Reading’ launches podcast

Good Reading magazine has launched a new books podcast aimed at helping readers ‘discover [their] next favourite read’.

The Good Reading podcast comprises weekly episodes featuring author interviews and book discussions, with Good Reading editorial manager Angus Dalton responsible for writing and hosting the podcast. Episodes are recorded at Sound Kitchen in Crows Nest, Sydney.

Pantera Press has sponsored the first season of the podcast, which will span about 20 episodes.

The first two episodes feature interviews with authors Sulari Gentill and Sarah Bailey, and upcoming episodes will feature Mikey Robbins, Chloe Hooper, Kate Rossmanith and Chris Hammer. Good Reading editor and publisher Rowena Morcom told Books+Publishing that the Good Reading team is keen to showcase some international authors alongside Australian authors.

‘This is part of a decisive move to boost our online offerings to readers,’ said Morcom. ‘Our whole aim is to help readers find a good book to read and keep them up to date about books and reading. Podcasts are becoming more popular, so it is a logical extension of that aim, just through a different experience.’

The Good Reading Podcast will be available on distribution platforms Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts. For more information, click here.
