Australian bestsellers in June: Morris reclaims top spot; Pape remains overall bestseller

Heather Morris’ debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, returns to the top spot for overall fiction bestsellers in June, ending the reign of Tim Winton’s The Shepherd’s Hut, which had topped the bestsellers since its release in March this year and now sits second. Another debut novel set in a concentration camp, The Love That I Have, debuts as the third bestselling title this month, while another Tim Winton title, Breath, bookends the top 10 fiction bestsellers this month, with a film tie-in edition published earlier this year. Liane Moriarty also has two novels appearing in the fiction top 10—Truly Madly Guilty and The Husband’s Secret—as does Jane Harper, whose debut novel, The Dry, has remained in the charts since March. Harper’s follow-up, Force of Nature, debuts in fourth spot this month.

Scott Pape’s The Barefoot Investor remains at the top of the Australian nonfiction bestseller charts, which this month sees parenting, memoir and cookbooks performing well. Steve Biddulph’s Raising Boys in the Twenty-First Century, Rhian Allen’s The Busy Mum’s Guide to Weight Loss, and CSIRO Low-Carb Every Day by Grant Brinkworth & Pennie Taylor all remain in the charts, while new cookbook entries include The Low Carb Kitchen and Slow Cooker Central Kids. Two new memoirs also debut in the top 10 this month: Tanya Hennessy’s ‘A-Z guide to adulting’ Am I Doing This Right? and Bri Lee’s account of her experience of the Australian legal system Eggshell Skull.
