NYWF announces artists for 2018 festival

The National Young Writers Festival (NYWF) has announced the artists appearing on its 2018 program, which runs from 27-30 September in Newcastle.

Guests announced on this year’s program include Alison Evans, Hella Ibrahim, Roj Amedi, Laura Elvery, Angela Meyer, Evelyn Araluen, Shastra Deo, Jamie Marina Lau, Stephen Pham, Kate O’Donnell and Ellena Savage. They will join a range of other Australian artists on the 90-strong line-up to take part in four days of workshops, readings, debates, conversations and panels.

NYWF chair Shona Barrett said, ‘the values of inclusivity, diversity, and experimentation are core to NYWF … [T]he incredible young and emerging talent appearing at the festival will create a community that reflects these values, whilst celebrating new practice, critical thinking, and Australia’s rich and evolving literary scene.’

Presented by This is Not Art (TiNA), the NYWF presents writing ‘in its broadest sense’. The full 2018 NYWF program will be launched in the Sydney Customs House Library on 31 August.
