Copyright Agency awards Create grants to five writers

Five writers and one visual artist have received Create grants, worth a total of $105,000, from the Copyright Agency.
The grants went to the following writers:
- Peggy Frew ($20,000)
- Jennifer Mills ($20,000)
- Josephine Rowe ($10,000)
- Jane Rawson ($15,000)
- Lenny Bartulin ($20,000).
‘Each of the selected authors will be producing new works of fiction on diverse topics ranging from xenophobia, self-interest and individualism to post-war migrant life in Tasmania during the 1950s, to cross-cultural friendships and ghost stories,’ said the Copyright Agency in a statement.
The judges were author Gail Jones, academic Terri Bird, and author, reviewer and editor Geordie Williamson.
