National Book Award 2018 fiction longlist announced

In the US, the National Book Award fiction longlist has been announced.
The finalists in the fiction category are:
- A Lucky Man (Jamel Brinkley, Graywolf Press)
- Gun Love (Jennifer Clement, Hogarth)
- Florida (Lauren Groff, William Heinemann)
- The Boatbuilder (Daniel Gumbiner, McSweeney’s)
- Where the Dead Sit Talking (Brandon Hobson, Soho Press)
- An American Marriage (Tayari Jones, Vintage)
- The Great Believers (Rebecca Makkai, Fleet)
- The Friend (Sigrid Nunez, Riverhead)
- There, There (Tommy Orange, Harvill Secker)
- Heads of the Colored People (Nafissa Thompson-Spires, Chatto & Windus)
