Booktopia wins people’s choice award at Telstra Business Awards
Online bookseller Booktopia has won the people’s choice award at the national finals of the Telstra Business Awards.
Announced at an awards dinner on 20 September, the national award win comes soon after the retailer won Business of the Year in the New South Wales awards.
At this year’s awards, voting for the people’s choice award was only open to the 31 state winners in each category. Booktopia also won the people’s choice award the last time it ran, in 2012, when the winner was decided by a public vote.
‘Everyone was saying this week that we were expected to win, but you can’t under estimate what it takes to get 4 million Australians to buy from you. This award was 14 years in the making,’ said Booktopia CEO Tony Nash.
