Text dominates shortlist for 2018 CHASS Australia Book Prize

The Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) has announced the shortlist for the 2018 Australia Book Prize, with Text Publishing responsible for all three shortlisted titles.
The prize, worth $3500, is part of the CHASS Australia Prizes program, which aims to draw international attention to Australia’s achievements in the humanities, arts and social sciences.
The shortlisted titles are:
- A Writing Life: Helen Garner and Her Work (Bernadette Brennan, Text)
- The Enigmatic Mr Deakin (Judith Brett, Text)
- Anaesthesia: The Gift of Oblivion and the Mystery of Consciousness (Kate Cole-Adams, Text).
Judges selected the shortlisted titles from a longlist of seven titles.
The winner will be announced at the 2018 CHASS Australia Prizes Dinner on 29 October in Melbourne.
