Four writers named 2019 ‘SMH’ Best Young Australian Novelists

Tom Lee (Coach Fitz, Giramondo), Robbie Arnott (Flames, Text), Jamie Marina Lau (Pink Mountain on Locust Island, Brow Books) and Ruby J Murray (The Biographer’s Lover, Black Inc.) have been named the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) Best Young Australian Novelists for 2019.

The awards, which recognise emerging writing talent, are open to writers aged 35 years or younger when their books are first published.

This year’s awards were judged by Age/SMH literary editor Jason Steger and novelists Felicity Castagna and Delia Falconer.
