NT History Book Award 2019 shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2019 Chief Minister’s Northern Territory History Book Award has been announced.

The three shortlisted titles are:

  • Found in Translation: Many meanings on a North Australian Mission (Laura Rademaker, University of Hawaiʻi Press)
  • Northern Dreams: The Politics of Northern Development in Australia (Lyndon Megarrity, Australian Scholarly Publishing)
  • Teaching ‘proper’ drinking? Clubs and pubs in Indigenous Australia (Maggie Brady, ANU Press).

The Northern Territory History Book Award is presented annually to recognise the ‘most significant contribution to Northern Territory history’ published in the preceding calendar year.

The shortlist was chosen from 16 entries, which can be viewed here.

The winner will be announced on 2 July.
