Scholastic acquires two books by Rove McManus
Scholastic Australia has acquired world rights to two children’s books by TV personality Rove McManus.
Scholastic will publish the picture book Disgusting McGrossface in September and Rocky Lobstar, the first book in a planned junior fiction series, in October. McManus will both write and illustrate the books.
Scholastic head of publishing Andrew Berkhut said Rove is ‘not only funny, clever and talented, but he has an amazing imagination to write and illustrate hilarious stories for children’. ‘Disgusting McGrossface and Rocky Lobstar will be loved by kids of all ages.’
McManus said he has been ‘creating ideas and putting them to paper for as long as I can remember’.
‘These first emerged through drawings and cartoons when I was younger and although I grew up to create through other mediums, illustrating has always remained a big part of my creative expression,’ said McManus. ‘So, naturally, I am supremely excited to be able to share these two new books with everyone, especially as I have not only written them but drawn them as well.’
