State Library of Queensland grant recipients announced

The State Library of Queensland has announced the recipients of nearly $900,000 in state government grants, to fund Queensland public library initiatives.

Close to $400,000 has been awarded to 16 councils as part of the library’s Public Library Strategic Priorities Grants program. Projects funded include live-streamed author events at Brisbane City Council libraries; STEAM outreach activities at Cairns and Gladstone Regional Councils; hearing accessibility technology at Fraser Coast Regional Council library; an Indigenous Knowledge Centre at Hope Vale Regional Council; and a story trail placed on walking tracks and parks in the Lockyer Valley.

About $500,000 in First 5 Forever Project grants will be distributed to 17 councils, to deliver children’s development literacy programs.
