NT Writers Festival postponed until October
The NT Writers Festival has been postponed due to Covid-19 and is now scheduled to take place from 1 to 4 October in Darwin.
Festival director Fiona Dorrell said the event was ‘fortunate to be in a position to reschedule’ when many other events and festivals were not.
‘Our arts and culture is more important than ever in times of change and uncertainty,’ she said. ‘We believe our 2020 festival theme, When the tides turn, Gunamidirra garawa birditj, will be as relevant later this year as it is right now. We will be re-inviting the same list of artists and hope that most will be available to participate in the many pressing conversations that recent events invite. The line-up of fantastic new and recent books we plan to celebrate hasn’t changed.’
Ticket sales for the festival will re-open in August, with the full program to be released in September.
