Byron Writers Fest, Create NSW offer new $40k writers residency

Byron Writers Festival and Create NSW have partnered to offer a new writing group residency worth almost $40,000.

The Write North Writers’ Group Residency for mid-career to established writers will support a writers’ group of between two and four members to travel to Byron Bay to undertake a writing residency from 7 – 13 September 2020.

The residency offers mentorship and feedback sessions from Charlotte Wood, including workshops, guided group discussions and individual consultations across five days.

In addition to the residency, the initiative includes $10,000 financial support for the successful group ‘to continue their writing development after the residency’. The Write North initiative will also engage a new lead writer ‘every year or every two years’ to support the successful writers’ group.

Applications will be assessed by Byron Writers Festival and members of the Create NSW Literature Board. Applications are now open and close 5pm Monday, 27 July 2020. See the Create NSW website for more information.
