Shortlist for 2020 National Biography Award announced

The State Library of New South Wales (SLNSW) has announced the shortlist for the 2020 National Biography Award.
The shortlisted works are:
- The Girls (Chloe Higgins, Picador)
- Beyond Words: A year with Kenneth Cook (Jacqueline Kent, UQP)
- Idling in green Places: A life of Alec Chisholm (Russell McGregor, Australian Scholarly Publishing)
- Tiberius with a Telephone: The life and stories of William McMahon (Patrick Mullins, Scribe)
- Things Nobody Knows But Me (Amra Pajalić, Transit Lounge)
- Hearing Maud (Jessica White, UWAP).
Each shortlisted author receives $2000. The winner, to be announced on 28 August, receives $25,000. For more information about the award, visit the SLNSW website here.
