Queensland Literary Awards 2020 people’s choice shortlist announced

The titles shortlisted for the $10,000 People’s Choice Book of the Year Award in the 2020 Queensland Literary Awards have been announced.

The shortlisted titles are:

  • A Lifetime of Impossible Days (Tabitha Bird, Viking)
  • The Kowloon Kid (Phil Brown, Transit Lounge)
  • A River with a City Problem (Margaret Cook, UQP)
  • Feeding the Birds at Your Table (Darryl Jones, NewSouth)
  • Meet Me at Lennon’s (Melanie Myers, UQP)
  • The Breeding Season (Amanda Niehaus, A&U)
  • Stone Sky Gold Mountain (Mirandi Riwoe, UQP)
  • Hearing Maud (Jessica White, UWAP).

The shortlisted titles were selected from eligible Queensland-authored nominations for the Fiction and Nonfiction Book Awards by the category judges. The shortlists for the other categories of the Queensland Literary Awards will be announced in August, with the winners to be announced in September.
