Limprecht awarded 2020 Blake-Beckett Trust Scholarship
Eleanor Limprecht has been awarded the Australian Society of Authors’ (ASA) 2020 Blake-Beckett Trust Scholarship, worth $20,000.
The scholarship is offered annually to an Australian author to provide them with time to work on a current manuscript. Limprecht was awarded for her novel The Coast, described by the judges as an ‘intrepid example of historical fiction with a chilling premise, a dynamic approach and themes (ranging from society’s terror of sickness to the power of individual resilience) that resonate to this day’.
Limprecht chosen from a shortlist of three that also included Mark Smith and Aoife Clifford, selected by assessors Toni Jordan and Helen O’Neill.
