Griffith Review launches new writing competition

Griffith Review has announced a new award for new and emerging writers.

The Long and Short of It competition is open to submissions of fiction and nonfiction from 3500 to 7000 words by writers with a maximum of one book published. Three winners will share a prize pool of $15,000 and have their work published in Griffith Review’s 75th edition in February 2022.

‘You can write to any theme you like—but we want new ideas, fresh voices and bold perspectives,’ said Griffith Review. ‘We’re looking for work that commands our attention.’

The competition, which is supported by the Copyright Agency, will be judged by Magabala Books publisher Rachel Bin Salleh, UQP publisher Aviva Tuffield and Ultimo Press publishing director Robert Watkins, along with Griffith Review editorial staff.

Entries close 15 March 2021. For more information, see the Griffith Review website.
