Readings YA Book Prize 2021 shortlist announced
The shortlist for the 2021 Readings Young Adult Book Prize has been announced.
The shortlisted YA novels are:
- The F Team (Rawah Arja, Giramondo)
- Future Girl (Asphyxia, A&U)
- The End of the World is Bigger Than Love (Davina Bell, Text)
- The Boy From the Mish (Gary Lonesborough, A&U)
- Metal Fish, Falling Snow (Cath Moore, Text)
- Where We Begin (Christie Nieman, Pan).
The shortlist was selected from over 30 eligible entries by Readings booksellers Bianca Looney, Kealy Siryj, Xiao-Xiao Kingham and Cindy Morris. The judges will be joined by YA author and previous Readings YA Book Prize winner Erin Gough to decide on this year’s winner, who receives $3000.
Now in its fifth year, the Readings Young Adult Book Prize is awarded to a debut or second YA book. Lisa Fuller was awarded the prize last year for her debut novel Ghost Bird (UQP).
