Queensland literary projects funded

The University of Queensland will receive $20,000 ‘to provide time and space to emerging writer Ellen van Neerven for their creative development of new work enhanced by access to unique UQ collections’, in the latest round of Queensland Arts Showcase Program funding.

Also announced recently were the latest recipients of Arts Queensland individual funding. Among the successful applicants were several undertaking literary projects, including:

  • Melanie Myers ($6920), for a literary project that will result in a full-length work of historical bio-fiction
  • Jacqueline Ryan ($4750), for audience expansion for award-winning comic book series ‘Burger Force’
  • Sean West ($6958), to support advanced editing and development of full-length poetry collection
  • Victoria Carless ($7000), for the creation of a middle grade novel.
