McDermid, Weiden to headline Terror Australis festival

The program has been announced for this year’s Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival, which is running as a digital event from 27–28 November under the theme ‘CSI: Tasmania’.

Among the more than 35 writers of crime and mystery are international guests including Irish novelist Liz Nugent, UK novelists Ann Cleeves and Val McDermid, and Sicangu Lakota nation novelist David Heska Wanbli Weiden, as well as local authors Garry Disher, Anita Heiss, Candice Fox, J P Pomare, R W R McDonald, Debra Oswald and Sulari Gentill.

The program includes panel discussions, author interviews, book clubs and writers masterclasses. Originally, a second weekend of live panel discussions in Huonville, Tasmania was planned; however, this was suspended due to the recent snap lockdown. A number of these planned panels have been moved to the weekend of digital events.

The festival is directed by L J M Owen. To see the full program, click here.
