Aus picture books chosen for IFLA catalogue

Ten Australian picture books have been selected for the third edition of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Picture Books exhibit, which will be launched at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in July 2022.

The picture books chosen are:

  • Window (Jeannie Baker, Walker Books)
  • Why I love Australia (Bronwyn Bancroft, Little Hare)
  • Animalia (Graeme Base, Puffin)
  • Bear and Rat (Christopher Cheng, illus by Stephen Michael King, Puffin)
  • My Two blankets (Irena Kobald, illus by Freya Blackwood, Little Hare)
  • Are We There Yet? (Alison Lester, Viking)
  • The Rabbits (John Marsden, illus by Shaun Tan, Lothian)
  • Ella and the Ocean (Lian Tanner, illus by L Jonathan Bentley, A&U)
  • Sorry Day (Coral Vass, illus by Dub Leffler, NLA)
  • Mr Huff (Anna Walker, Viking).

The titles were nominated by librarians across Australia, with a committee selecting the final top 10 titles for ages 0–18. The books will be featured in an online catalogue and displayed at sites in Tokyo and Paris. For more information, click here.
