ABA announces ICYMI 50 campaign details

The Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) has released details of its February campaign, Your Booksellers’ ICYMI 50—Must-read new Australian books you might have missed.

The campaign, which received $20,000 Copyright Agency funding, aims to promote 50 Australian books by up-and-coming authors that were released over the past two years of the pandemic. The selected 50 books will be sold at a discount of 20% by participating booksellers from 29 January until 28 February or until stock is sold out.

Over half of the 50 featured books are novels, with the list also including nonfiction, poetry and young adult fiction.

‘New authors launch their careers by indie Australian bookshops,’ ABA CEO Robbie Egan told Books+Publishing late last year. ‘They didn’t get that [because] we were online for much of the past 18 months. That’s not where you discover new Australian writing.’
