Personnel developments at Thames & Hudson Australia

Thames & Hudson Australia (T&H) have announced a number of new appointments that will support underpin the company’s next stage of growth.

Rick Wiebusch fills a newly created position as sales manager: key accounts/international. Rick joins T&H from Lonely Planet, where he worked as Australia and New Zealand sales manager and Asia Trade Export manager. Rick will manage a portfolio of national accounts and develop the Australian export business with a particular focus on Asia-Pacific.

Claire Beyer joins T&H in the new position of product/inventory manager. Claire joins the product and operations department to support the expansion of the T&H distributed publisher portfolio. Claire was formerly in charge of member services at the ABA, and had previously been a key accounts manager at Lonely Planet.

Tom Saras is the new publicist for T&H, succeeding Michelle Brasington, who will retire at the end of April after 27 years at the company. Tom will lead the company’s publicity efforts across traditional and digital media. Tom relocates to Melbourne from Sydney, where he has been working as a campaign manager at HarperCollins.

Gemma Pass joins T&H in the role of marketing executive to manage lead-title campaigns across Australian and internationally published books. Gemma joins T&H from the Melbourne Writers Festival.

In an internal move, Jackie Money is promoted to head of marketing. Jackie will lead the marketing and communications department. Jackie first joined T&H in a maternity cover position in 2020 and has been instrumental in developing the company’s overall communications strategy.

These changes are the result of a sustained period of significant growth for T&H’s Australian publishing and third-party distributed publisher business.
