QBD opens 85th store, first Australian Geographic outlet
QBD Books has announced the opening of a new shop in Brisbane, as well as the company’s first Australian Geographic standalone store.
Opening on 25 June, the new QBD at Westfield North Lakes in Brisbane brings the total number of QBD Books stores nationally to 85. Local author Grantlee Kieza and illustrator Andy Geppert will be in attendance at next week’s grand opening.
In July, QBD will open its first standalone Australian Geographic store in Brisbane at Westfield Chermside. QBD has been in partnership with Australian Geographic since 2020 and many of the company’s stores across Australia feature kiosks with Australian Geographic products.
QBD Books CEO Nicholas Croydon said, ‘We are very pleased to be able to grow our presence in Queensland, our home state … We are thrilled to be opening our first standalone Australian Geographic store here which will enable us to offer an expanded range of exciting products for all ages.’
The country’s largest bookshop chain, QBD opened its biggest store to date in Adelaide earlier this year.
