Readings announces Children’s Book Prize 2022 shortlist
The shortlist for the 2022 Readings Children’s Book Prize has been announced.
This year’s six shortlisted books are:
- A Glasshouse of Stars (Shirley Marr, Puffin)
- Little Gem (Anna Zobel, Puffin)
- My Brother Ben (Peter Carnavas, UQP)
- The Sugarcane Kids and the Red Bottomed Boat (Charlie Archbold, Text)
- Treasure in the Lake (Jason Pamment, A&U)
- Wylah the Koorie Warrior #1: Guardians (Jordan Gould & Richard Pritchard, Albert Street Books).
The shortlist was chosen by Readings staff Lucie Dess, Lian Hingee, Janine Larson and Clare McCann-McCall, who will be joined by the recipient of last year’s prize, Penny Tangey, to choose the winner.
In its ninth year, the winner of the Readings Children Book Prize will be announced at an event on Wednesday, 26 October along with the winners of the Readings Young Adult Prize and New Australian Fiction Prize. The shortlists for these categories will be revealed in the coming weeks.
