Vale Rod Mead

Publishing industry figure Rod Mead has died, aged 85.

Pamela Petty and Bryony Cosgrove write:

Australian publishing has lost one of its much-loved bon vivants. Rod Mead (21 April 1937–31 July 2022) had a long career in the industry, working around Australia with companies such as Rigby, Prentice Hall, Mead & Beckett and MacLennan & Petty before retiring to Noosa in 2009 with his wife Pamela Petty.

He had a great love of travel, music, theatre and film, and good food and wine, and was always a source of entertaining gossip. Rod is survived by Pamela, and two of his three children from his first marriage, Jo and Ian (Dave deceased).
