Hachette Australia is seeking a highly experienced, creative and curious managing editor, children’s publishing, to join our Australian publishing division. This role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about children’s books and managing all things editorial for our award-winning children’s publishing program.

The successful candidate will oversee editorial on Hachette Australia’s Lothian children’s imprint and Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand’s Little Moa children’s imprint and will manage a number of direct reports.

The role will suit a highly motivated individual who has a track record of more than five years of exceptional editorial work on children’s and adult titles. Candidates will be committed to flawless author and illustrator care and will have skills in structural editing, copyediting and proofreading, along with a strong passion for producing beautiful and brilliant books, with special interest in picture books, junior, middle-grade and young adult titles, and graphic novels.
