Pam Horsey, member of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (Victorian Branch) Executive Committee, has died.

Horsey worked at HarperCollins as the education manager, and was an active and longstanding member of the CBCA where she undertook the roles of branch president and secretary.

BookPeople CEO Robbie Egan writes:

‘Pam worked in publishing and was an outstanding representative for children’s books for many years. Her enthusiasm for, and wider knowledge of, children’s books was always appreciated by those with whom she came in contact … In 2010, Pam was awarded the Leila St John Award for distinguished services to children’s literature recognising her significant contribution to children’s literature in Victoria. Pam was also a Life Member of the Victorian Branch.

‘Pam was a coordinator for the Maurice Saxby Development Fund and a convenor for the Albert Ullin Award. Her contributions have been considerable and her influence immeasurable.’
