Hachette UK introduces neurodiversity policy

Hachette UK has introduced a neurodiversity policy to ‘support and nurture’ neurodivergent colleagues, contributors and publishing, reports the Bookseller.

The framework provides Hachette UK staff with an outline of what neurodiversity can look like, and support to neurodiverse colleagues. Line managers are being advised on managing neurodiverse teams and ensuring recruitment practices are open and enabling to neurodivergent candidates.

‘Accessibility inclusion is a vital part of our diversity and inclusion initiative, and we will continue to work with our Accessibility Network to improve awareness of neurodiversity to ensure all our employees are able to thrive at work,’ said Hachette UK diversity and inclusion manager Kim Kidd.

Hachette UK’s neurodiversity policy was created in line with the publisher’s ‘Changing the Story’ diversity and inclusion initiative.
