Age Book of the Year 2023 shortlists announced

The shortlists for the 2023 Age Book of the Year Award have been announced.
The shortlisted works in each category are:
Fiction
- Limberlost (Robbie Arnott, Text)
- Every Version of You (Grace Chan, Affirm)
- A Country of Eternal Light (Paul Dalgarno, HarperCollins)
- Funny Ethnics (Shirley Le, Affirm)
- The Sun Walks Down (Fiona McFarlane, A&U)
- Faithless (Alice Nelson, Vintage)
Nonfiction
- The All of It (Cadance Bell, Viking)
- Childhood (Shannon Burns, Text)
- Suburban Noir (Peter Doyle, NewSouth)
- Raised by Wolves (Jess Ho, Affirm)
- Wandering with Intent (Kim Mahood, Scribe)
- Those Dashing McDonagh Sisters (Mandy Sayer, NewSouth).
Winners will be announced on 4 May as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival opening gala and each will receive $10,000.
Last year’s awards were won by Miles Allinson for In Moonland and Bernadette Brennan for Leaping into the Waterfall: The enigmatic Gillian Mears.
