Aurealis Awards 2022 winners announced

The winners of the Aurealis Awards, presented for science fiction, fantasy and horror writing published in 2022 in Australia, have been announced.

Among the winning categories are:

Best Fantasy Novel

  • Path of Thorns (Angela Slatter, Titan)

Best Science Fiction Novel

  • 36 Streets (T R Napper, Titan)

Best Horror Novel

  • The Stone Road (Trent Jamieson, Erewhon)

Best Young Adult Novel

  • Only a Monster (Vanessa Len, A&U)

Best Children’s Fiction

  • The Wintrish Girl (Melanie La’Brooy, UQP)

Best graphic novel/illustrated work

  • The Tree of Ecstasy and Unbearable Sadness (Matt Ottley, Dirt Lane Press)

Best collection

  • Here be Leviathans (Chris Flynn, UQP)

Best anthology

  • This All Come Back Now (ed by Mykaela Saunders, UQP).

Winners were also announced for categories including best YA, horror, fantasy and science fiction short stories and novellas. To see the full winners list, click here.

The awards were presented by the Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild at the Aurealis Awards ceremony in Canberra on 3 June 2023.
