One Day We’re All Going to Die

One Day We’re All Going to Die is an utterly compelling, darkly humorous millennial coming-of-age novel about a 27-year-old single Jewish woman in Melbourne who must learn to reconcile family expectations, cultural constraints and inter-generational trauma with her own desires. One Day We’re All Going to Die will appeal to readers of Sorrow and Bliss, Normal People, and My Year of Rest and Relaxation—it’s fiercely honest, funny and fearless storytelling from a coruscating new voice. Dr Lee Kofman described the novel as ‘A compelling, immersive, utterly absorbing read. Hearst’s arrival on the literary scene is a triumphal one. I cannot wait to see what she writes next.’

Described as ‘one of the most interesting young playwriting voices in Australian theatre,’ by Arts Review, Elise Esther Hearst is a Melbourne-based playwright and author.
