Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize shortlist announced

The Australian Book Review (ABR) has announced the shortlist for the 2023 Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize.

The shortlisted stories are:

Worth a total of $12,500 in its 13th year, the prize received 1200 entries from 38 countries. The shortlist was chosen by judges Gregory Day, Jennifer Mills and Maria Takolander.

The three shortlisted stories are published in the August 2023 issue of ABR, and the winner will be announced in an online ceremony on 17 August. Tracy Ellis won the 2022 prize for her story ‘Natural Wonder’.
