Words on the Waves Writers’ Festival to expand team following record attendance for 2023

After a highly successful 2023, Words on the Waves Writers’ Festival is excited to announce that they are expanding their team for 2024. Festival Director, Angela Bennetts, will continue to spearhead the festival, and joining her is Benny Agius. With over 40 years’ experience, Benny comes to Words on the Waves from Welbeck ANZ, where she held the role of Managing Director. Benny will oversee Special Events and Sponsorships, ensuring engaging literary experiences year-round.

Fiona Lloyd will take on the role of Children and Young People’s Program Manager, injecting even more creativity into Ripples, the festival youth program. Fiona is a published children’s author and a role model for Books in Homes. Kaye Wright joins as the Board Secretary; Kaye is currently with Leading Edge and previously headed Trade Sales at Penguin Random House. Mary Jane House, Field and Trade Sales Manager at Allen and Unwin, joins us as non-executive board member, with both Kaye and Mary Jane supporting organisational processes.
