Handsel offers Hardie Grant books in gift packs

Hardie Grant is selling books in gift packs through its new online gift-giving service Handsel.

Created by HGX, the Hardie Grant–owned digital venture studio, Handsel is described as ‘reimagining the book gifting category’ and offers curated packages of books combined with gift products.

The studio said: ‘Through the vast product offering and creative personalisation elements, consumers can easily select the perfect gift for any occasion. From handwritten notes to custom book inscriptions, Handsel shines a light on the art of storytelling to offer unique gifts that will last a lifetime.’

HGX managing director Jacinta Hardie-Grant said: ‘We know that a huge percentage of books are purchased as gifts—and for good reason—so we wanted to improve that experience for the giver and the recipient. Compared to a bunch of flowers or a traditional food hamper, a book is long-lasting, considered, and individual, and when combined with our personalisation options, same-day delivery, and a curated range, we have created a truly meaningful gifting platform.’

The studio said the word ‘handsel’ comes from an Old Norse word, which means ‘to give into one’s hand’, and added that ‘Handsel gifts are meaningful and intentional; every order is picked, packed, personalised and delivered by hand’. The service offers Australia-wide delivery and same-day delivery for Melbourne residents.
